Returns & Exchanges Policy

At Ubuntu Sculptures, each item is carefully handcrafted by Zimbabwean artisans, making every piece unique and meaningful. Due to the bespoke and artisanal nature of our creations, we kindly ask customers to carefully review the terms below regarding returns, exchanges, and refunds.

Overview

Our return and refund policy lasts 30 days from the date of delivery. If more than 30 days have passed since your order was received, we regret that we cannot offer a refund or exchange.

To be eligible for a return:

  • Your item must be unused, in the same condition in which you received it.
  • It must be returned in its original packaging.
  • You must provide a valid receipt or proof of purchase.

Please do not send your item back to the original artist or manufacturer.

Non-Returnable Items

The following items are non-refundable and non-returnable:

  • Custom, engraved, or personalised sculptures (e.g., Legacy Edition Hand Engraving).
  • Gift cards and downloadable content.
  • Workshop tickets and event bookings (unless cancelled by us).
  • Affiliate or third-party services (e.g., transport, photography).
  • Sale items or discounted promotional bundles.
  • Items damaged after delivery due to customer mishandling or negligence.

Partial Refunds

Partial refunds may be considered:

  • If an item is returned not in its original condition.
  • If the return is missing components or damaged due to reasons not caused by our team.
  • If returned more than 30 days after delivery.

Refund Process

Once your return is received and inspected, you will be notified via email of the approval or rejection of your refund.

If approved, your refund will be processed to the original method of payment within 10 business days.

Late or Missing Refunds

If your refund has not appeared:

  1. Re-check your account.
  2. Contact your credit card provider or bank — processing times may vary.
  3. If unresolved after 10 business days, please contact ubuntusculptures@gmail.com.

Exchanges

We only replace items if they are defective, damaged upon arrival, or incorrect. Exchange requests must be submitted within 7 days of delivery.

To initiate an exchange, please email ubuntusculptures@gmail.com with photos and details of the issue.

Gifts

If the item was marked as a gift at purchase and shipped directly to you:

  • You will receive store credit for the value of the return.
  • Once the return is received, a gift certificate will be sent to you.

If the gift was delivered to the purchaser first, the refund will be sent to the original buyer.

Shipping Returns

Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the buyer unless the return is due to our error (e.g., defective or wrong item). Shipping fees are non-refundable. If a refund is granted, the cost of return shipping may be deducted from your refund amount.

We strongly recommend using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance for returns. We cannot guarantee receipt of returned items.
